What makes bobby run king of the hill

Goofs If the tradition of beating up the Tom Landry Middle School mascot was so well known, how come Bobby didn't know about it ahead of time and why did no one tell him? Also, why are the adults okay with a kid getting beat up considering the physical damage that could happen? Quotes Hank Hill : I needed to use the restroom, but I couldn't face the guys at the trough.

User reviews 1 Review. Top review. Dang ol' Great Episode. Second, I feel that every person featured in the episode has at least one line that totally solidifies how funny their character is- Dale's "That goes in my big book of: So-There's" being one of my favorites. Anyways I'm no good at reviewing- I just think it should be said that this episode is hilarious.

Details Edit. Release date December 10, United States. United States. Technical specs Edit. Afterward, Bobby informs his father about his intentions. Later, inside the school gymnasium, Bobby completely wins over Mr. Grandy and the crowd of observers with a show stopping performance, and he is chosen as the new Longhorn over Mike Soto. It soon becomes apparent that whenever Arlen is winning, it is tradition for the McManerbury band to charge the Longhorn and subject him to physical punishment.

During his first game as the mascot, Bobby secretly roots for a McMaynerbury victory. And when the band charges forward, Bobby runs out of the stadium and never returns.

When Bobby returns to school, he is subjected to much humiliation. But when Mr. Grandy asks for the return of the Longhorn costume, Bobby changes his mind by claiming to have a secret plan.

Later, Bobby turns to Dale for help and describes his plan to break into Belton Middle School and steal the Belton armadillo. Dale cautions that Belton has kept its mascot under tight security ever since a theft in But as the pair begin the break-in, Dale notices four kids inside a storage room guarding the precious armadillo. By reading lips, Dale ascertains that four other students are currently putting in motion a plan to steal the Longhorn costume. Why It Sucks The idea of a rival marching band violently attacking the school's mascot is not a school tradition - it's assault and battery!

Since King of the Hill is supposed to be one of the less "fantasy-like" animated shows, this actually feels out of place, even for the show's setting. Hank and Peggy don't even bother to consider calling the Board of Education or even the police over him about to be brutally attacked. Eugene Grandy is unlikable, as he treats Bobby like scum after Bobby flees the football field for his own safety.

Even beforehand, he seems to be kind of a jerk toward Bobby. As a whole, the entire school treats Bobby horribly after his escape. The scene where a nurse knocks over Bobby's supplies and tells him to pick them up is just plain cruel. Bad Ending: Bobby lets the rival fans flatten him and happily takes the punishment.
